About DSLspeedtest.biz

DSLspeedtest.biz is a free, independent internet speed testing service built for everyday users who want honest, unbiased measurements of their connection quality.

Unlike speed tests operated by internet service providers or content delivery networks, our test uses the open-source NDT7 protocol from M-Lab (Measurement Lab), a nonprofit initiative supported by Google, Mozilla, and other organizations. This means our results are never routed preferentially and are not influenced by any commercial relationship with an ISP.

What We Measure

Download Speed

How fast data travels from the internet to your device, measured in megabits per second (Mbps).

Upload Speed

How fast data travels from your device to the internet. Critical for video calls and file sharing.

Latency (Ping)

The round-trip time for a packet of data between your device and the test server, in milliseconds.

Jitter

The variation in latency over time. High jitter causes choppy video calls and unstable gaming connections.

Our Commitment

We do not sell test data to ISPs, advertisers, or data brokers. Anonymous aggregate data may be used to produce publicly available research on internet quality. Individual test results saved to your account are private and accessible only to you.

Our guides and articles are written to educate, not to upsell. We do not accept affiliate commissions from ISPs and do not feature sponsored test results.
