How We Grade Your Connection
Each metric is graded independently against real-world benchmarks. A fast download speed does not compensate for high ping — these are separate dimensions of connection quality that affect different activities.
Download Speed Grades
| A | 200 Mbps+ | Excellent for any household |
| B | 100–200 Mbps | Great for most families |
| C | 25–100 Mbps | Adequate for 2–3 users |
| D | 10–25 Mbps | Bare minimum; struggles with HD |
| F | Under 10 Mbps | Severely limited |
Ping / Latency Grades
| A | Under 20 ms | Ideal for competitive gaming |
| B | 20–50 ms | Good for gaming and calls |
| C | 50–100 ms | Noticeable in fast games |
| D | 100–150 ms | Lag in most online games |
| F | 150 ms+ | Unusable for real-time apps |
Why grades matter by activity
Streaming video cares most about download speed. Gaming cares most about ping and jitter. Video calls need decent upload speed and low jitter. Browsing is forgiving of nearly everything except very low download speeds. Your grade shows which activities your connection handles well and which it will struggle with.
